Automatic file converter in the Noxum Publishing Studio
What editor would not appreciate being able to create a set of documentation simply by uploading all image files at once, automatically converting them into the desired formats and saving everything correctly in the content management system? With the Noxum Publishing Studio, this ideal scenario is now reality.
Würzburg, June 4, 2009 - Noxum GmbH, the specialist for content management and editorial systems, has expanded the Noxum Publishing Studio by adding a mass file import and an automatic file conversion function.
The mass file import facility allows large numbers of image files to be automatically uploaded to the editorial system at once. For example, editors can also use this function to define the naming conventions for the objects that are to be set up. This makes it easier to find objects on the system. When used in conjunction with the automatic file converter, this even saves the editor having to carry out any further manual image processing.
The automatic file converter is a background service for automatically creating file derivatives in the Noxum Publishing Studio, e.g. for image formats. Once they have been uploaded, the image files are automatically converted into the defined target formats.
A typical application is converting high-resolution print images (TIF) into low-resolution web images (JPG). Image properties for the target format, e.g. resolution, color depth, color space, scaling etc., are defined and pre-configured on a project-specific basis.
The BMP, GIF, ICO, JPG, PNG and TIF formats are supported by default. Additional formats such as EPS, PDF, SVG or DXF can also be incorporated on request.
